Luther Burbank Garden Club

The Luther Burbank Garden Club is dedicated to promoting the appreciation, cultivation, and conservation of gardens and green spaces. Named in honor of the renowned horticulturist Luther Burbank, the club carries forward his legacy by encouraging a deeper connection to nature through gardening.

The club’s mission centers on fostering awareness of the vital role gardens play in environmental health, biodiversity, and community well-being. Notable Activities: Historically famed for transforming Yonkers’ landscape – nearly 90 years ago the club planted memorial cherry trees along the Rumsey Road parkway, a display that residents still enjoy every spring. The Luther Burbank club continues to be involved in Yonkers beautification (annual tree-lighting events, seasonal plantings) and partners with other local groups on conservation efforts. It remains one of the oldest garden clubs in the region.
