Lake Mahopac Garden Club

The Lake Mahopac Garden Club, located in scenic Putnam County, has proudly served its community for over nine decades. Founded on a deep love for gardening and a commitment to civic engagement, the club continues to inspire, educate, and beautify the local landscape.

As a member of the Federated Garden Clubs of New York State, Inc. (9th District), Central Atlantic Region of State Garden Clubs, Inc., and National Garden Clubs, Inc., we share in a broader mission to protect native plant life, promote conservation, and foster creativity through the artistic use of plant materials.

Our club hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including flower shows, educational workshops, and member luncheons. We take great pride in our community projects and environmental initiatives, and we honor local gardeners through recognition programs that highlight outstanding gardens in the area.

Notable Activities: Active in Putnam County for generations, with a legacy of horticultural education and community beautification. The club proudly marked “90 years of beauty and friendship through gardening” recently. It traditionally hosts an annual flower show and a summer high-tea fundraiser for its projects. Lake Mahopac GC continues to plant and maintain public gardens in Mahopac and supports environmental initiatives county-wide
