New Rochelle Garden Club

Founded on November 11, 1911, the Garden Club of New Rochelle began when a group of like-minded individuals came together to turn their shared passion for gardening into a lasting organization. Just a few meetings later, the club was officially formed—planting the seeds for over a century of civic beautification, environmental stewardship, and community engagement.

In 1924, the club became a Charter Member of the Federated Garden Clubs of New York State, Inc., joining a statewide network dedicated to promoting horticulture, conservation, and design.

Today, the Garden Club of New Rochelle is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports numerous outreach initiatives and beautification projects throughout the city and surrounding areas. The club’s members are united by a love for nature and a commitment to improving their community through hands-on service, educational programs, and the promotion of sustainable gardening practices.

With over 100 years of service, the Garden Club of New Rochelle continues to flourish—offering enriching events, strong fellowship, and meaningful opportunities to make a difference through gardening.
