Peekskill Garden Club
The club is known for its stewardship of local landmarks, including the Petals Garden on Central Avenue, the seasonal planters at the Peekskill Train Station, and the Blue Star Marker display at China Pier, honoring U.S. veterans. Beyond public gardens, members actively engage with local youth through horticulture programs at Woodside Elementary School and planting projects in Depew Park with children from the Creative Pre School.
The mission of the Garden Club of Peekskill is to promote conservation and celebrate the natural beauty of the Hudson Valley. Through education, hands-on projects, and community collaboration, the club continues to cultivate both gardens and goodwill across the region.
Notable Activities: For over 90 years the club has been a key force in Peekskill’s beautification. It maintains the “Petals” public garden on Central Avenue, planter boxes at the Peekskill train station, and a Blue Star Memorial display. Each spring the club holds a large Mother’s Day Plant Sale (its main annual fundraiser) to fund scholarships and these civic projects.
