Pound Ridge Garden Club

For more than seven decades, the Pound Ridge Garden Club has brought together generations of horticulture and floral design enthusiasts dedicated to learning, creating, and giving back to their community.

While the club is known for its commitment to horticulture and participation in a biennial flower show, its contributions extend far beyond the garden. Members actively support civic life by marching in the Memorial Day Parade, designing centerpieces for the annual holiday luncheon honoring the town’s senior citizens, and leading beautification projects across the area—including widespread daffodil plantings that brighten public spaces each spring.

Monthly meetings offer educational programs in floral design and horticulture, while hands-on projects foster collaboration and lasting friendships among members. Through these efforts, the club continues to enhance the natural charm of Pound Ridge and promote environmental stewardship.

Notable Activities: A vibrant club that celebrated 75 years in 2016. Pound Ridge GC engages in numerous civic projects, notably creating a large rain garden and native plant sanctuary at the Moat Family Green in town (a multi-year project for the 75th anniversary). The club also holds popular community events like bulb and plant sales, flower shows, and seasonal workshops. Proceeds support local landscaping – for instance, the club’s tag sales have funded landscaping of the town’s historic triangles and monuments.
